I have been bleeding quite badly from my bowels for the past 2 years.I went to the doctor but she claims I only have IBS (this is without getting me to go through any tests). I am starting to get scared about what it could be and am very embarrased about it. Along with the bleeding when I have a bowel movement, there is blood clots in my stool and I get abdominal pain, specailing when I get stressed or eat certain foods. I am afraid to find out what I have as I've been told by friends in the medical field that it could be colon cancer, which funs in my family. I am a 20 year old female, and if someone could help me out with info or advice it would be greatly appriecated.

Hi there,

I myself am a young female (24) and have been dealing with a lot of stomach/intestinal issues. I don't have what you have but because I've done a lot of research, it sounds like you may have Chrones (sp?) Disease. This disease causes the formation of sores in your intestines. When you eat certain foods such as seeds, nuts or anything crunchy that may scrape along these sores, it can cause severe pain and bleeding in your intestines and stools. If I were you I would do some more digging in to the subject of Chrones. Try to stay positive and don't think the C word quite yet! There are a lot of digestive problems out there!

You should go for tests for bowel problems. I have ulerative collitis and many symptoms were as you describe.Your Dr may well be correct. However the only way to put your mind at ease is to have tests done.IBS as far as I`m concerned means Dr does`nt know what`s wrong. Go to another Doctor
