My child is 6 and has a ferritin level of 35ug/ml. I understand that the nornal ferritin level is 15ug/ml up to over 100ug/ml. Is she to be regarded as having a low ferritin level and therefore need an iron supplement?f so what is the dosage?

Hey Elisabeth. This is very sensitive topic since we are talking about your six year old child here and there is not a room for a mistake to be made. I have had a similar issue with my friend and I couldn't tell anything about his condition. Not until he went to a specialist in order to establish a diagnose. So, what I would suggest you to do as soon as possible is to go and visit the doctor's office and see for yourself. Take your child and do all the tests required. Does iron deficiency cause you to be cold because if it does than we might be talking about anemia or something even more dangerous.
