Hello, folks. I was found some suspicious result on my smear (Pap) test. My doctor suggests making cervical conisation. I have heard something about that procedure. I don’t know whether it is performed under general anesthesia or not. I would appreciate if anyone knew to answer me this. Thanks in advance.

Hello, there. Cervical conization or cone biopsy is performed under general anesthesia. You don’t need to worry about that. However, this procedure brings many risks. Bleeding is just one of them. I know that in many cases it is changed by more modern procedures. I advise you to speak to your gynecologist once again. Ask him whether this method is really necessary in your condition. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
