There is so much bad information here. I really hope you have some real doctors, or anyone with real experience with Cannabis to debunk all these lies.

Summary of the following: Don't stop abruptly, gradually lower your cannabis consumption. If you have a hard time doing that of course stopping right away is better than continuing something you do not wish to. The body will not understand the sudden drop in the effects of cannabis so with sudden stop you will expirience negative effects to every positive effect you have had. There is only one person in this fight and that is you, though you may find solace in others they cannot fight for you. You are capable of quitting, giving up before you start is only the pathetic easy way.

I've smoked weed for just a few months now but I've taken a month break. Ofc I won't find any withdrawal symptoms but what I read here is also very improbable. Weed is not physically addictive which basically means that the body will not ask for more when it stops recieving THC. I believe every symptom described here is based on long term and/or irresponsible use of cannabis.

1. Lack of appetite. This is quite obvious since when you are under the effects you find an increase in appetite. When you take away the chemical that is triggering it your body won't think you need more hormones that trigger hunger.

2. Insomnia. Haven't encountered any research data about this but for many (myself included) cannabis helps with sleeping so one could vaguely connect this with nr.1

3. Psychological addiction is there. If you have been using cannabis for a long period of time not in correlation with some physical illness you are most likely addicted to some extent but like I said it is not a physical addiction. Then what is it? Computer or food addiction is a similar matter. It is not to be looked down upon but it is something with awareness should lower the urge to smoke. But what is a psychological addiction anyways? Basically it's extremely likely that the subject has a pre-disposition to a psychological ailment. Wether it is dormant or not the subject seeks refuge withing the good feeling that cannabis has (or computers or food for that matter). Giving up cannabis is often synonymous with returning to the state the subject was in before starting cannabis use and let's face it, none of us want's to feel bad.

I do not wish to belittle the expirience people here have had but this is based on the medical data from the most recent research. Also getting information from other people might help with what you are about to feel emotionally but we are not the best judges about what is happening to our bodies though we like to think so. Also suddenly stopping smoking after a lot of smoking over a long period of time is of course going to result in irregularities. The endo-cannabinoid system (I hope I spelled that right) has the ability to set itself straight as with pretty much every hormone the body produces so if you take in any kind of hormone you'd better make sure that you do it in a gradual increase or decrease or your body won't have time to react to the change.

Everyone has an opinion. It may sound totally absurd to you but to them it may be reality. If you read something "snarky" pass by it with out giving it a thought. There has been a lot of good input, but you don't have to rely on everything you read.

Also, feel free to add your coments and concerns. Should you feel that something is a "lie", you are encouraged to rebutt what you think is not correct. (within reason)
