My brother who is an amateur runner has had an unpleasant event while he was running. Namely, he doesn’t like to drink water and he avoids it as much as possible. He has had health problems because of that, but now he really crossed the line. He almost fainted because of poor hydration during running on a hot day. Is there anything else other than water that he could use for hydration?

I also didn’t like water and I drank only a glass per a day. I drank only juices and sodas which was pretty unhealthy and it usually brings about gaining weight, teeth decay and sometimes even high level of sugar in blood. Hydration is very important not only on a hot day. It’s best to start drinking water an hour before training and during the training hydrate yourself after each fifteen minutes. He can also drink sports drinks or milk shakes after the training in order to speed up the process of body replenishing, but I think that he has to take at least a liter of water during the day. I must add that I changed my bad habit and now I can drink only water. It only takes time and discipline.
