Hi, My last period was 26th July and I tested positive last tuesday/wednesday. I have been to the doctors who has said I am 4 1/2 weeks pregnant and since friday I have been bleeding with a lower back ache-similar to period like pains. Not huge amounts of blood and I have had a tiny clot pass similar to period. Doctor said bleeding could be a threatened miscariage. Could I be miscarrying?

It all depends. You could be bleeding cause of the baby implanting itself.(I hope I said that right?)A lot of women bleed through their pregnancy and go on to deliever happy healthy babies.I know if this helps you or not but I am 2 months pregnant right now and when I was about 5 and a half weeks pregnant I was sitting at the computer and I felt something gush out of me.I went to the bathroom and there was a lot of blood.I went to the hospital right away. They gave me a pap smear to make sure my cervix was still close and to see if they could see where the blood was coming from.I was for sure I was having a miscarriage. They couldnt see any new blood and my cervix was still closed. They then gave me a ultrasound. They said they couldnt see any blood around the baby so they didnt know why I was bleeding. They then said the baby was just fine.I even got to listen to the heart beat. They said if I was having a miscarriage that the baby would be going down wards trying to come out.But the baby was very high still. So see I wasnt having a miscarriage. The baby was doing just fine.I havent had any bleeding or cramping since then.I only had that little bit of bleeding just that one time.I have 3 other boys and I have never ever bleed with any of them.It isnt normal to bleed when you are pregnant but it can happen. It all depends on how much and how long you bleed. Some cramping is normal too!I have a lot of cramping but Im pretty sure mine is due to having a lot of gas. Also my cramping is very very light too.Did your OBGYN not test your levels?Did they not give you a ultrasound? They should have done these things. If you are having a lot of cramping and a lot of bleeding you need to go be seen ASAP.Have them test your levels. You will have to go back 2 days later to have them test your levels again. Then on the next day they should know if you are having a miscarriage or not.If the levels go up a lot from the first ones than it means its a good pregnancy. If they go down than it means you are probably having a miscarriage. But you really need to take it easy until you go in to have all this done.Just lay around and dont do a lot of walking, cleaning or lifting things.Im going back to my OBGYN in a few days to have another ultrasound just to make sure everything is ok.I pray every night that everything turns out ok with me and the baby.I will also pray for you.I hope everything turns out ok for you. Please keep us updated.
