I'm so scared I have the same problem, I am only 12 so I am obviously a virgin. I can't see a doctor because that would mean telling my mum which would be way too embarrassing. What if I have some sort of disease or something and die?!!!

so i'm having the same problem ... i'm 17 and have been having sex with my boyfriend now for a little over 2 months. it's very dry and itchy down there and when i'm in the shower i try and feel for bumps, but i can never tell if there are any or not... if they are, they definitely aren't noticeable, and when i look, i can never see any, i'm assuming that's a good sign? i've only been with my boyfriend, but he's been with other girls... but i was doing some research on stds and herpes and such and i only had the dry, itchy symptoms... so i'm thinking it's probably a yeast infection... but i'm afraid to tell my mom because i don't want her to worry or anything : /

I have these problems as well I have never had a yeast infection and suspect that that might be what I have.

For those of you who say you feel like you have tore the skin, my guess is you have, I looked very closely at an area that had felt like that after being so itchy I couldn't help but sctatch and my skin is tore,
I dont know how long this takes to heal, but when I can not help it I now use a wet cloth instead of anything that might tear the skin more, it seems to have helped with the sting and has not givein me any more "cuts"
I had to stop wearing underwear to bed as it seems to make it worst in the morning.

I plan on calling my doctor after the weekend and I am terified that I am wrong about it being a yeast infection, I am very shy and hate going to doctors but since I can only get an idea of what it might be from online I have no choice, I'd rather have this gone as quickly as possible.

If you use a lot of scented oils or bubbles it can irritate your vagina. You're not really supposed to use scented or flavored things on/in your lady bits bc they can screw up the delicate pH down there and cause a reaction. Sweet stuff can also cause a bacterial infection since its already a warm and moist environment. Mild soap and warm water are the best and safest way to scrub up down there. However, if you think you have an infection of any sort, scheduling a doc appt pronto. That's what they're here for :-)

I'm only 13. and my vagina is red, itchy and sore. if I ignore it, it normally goes away (the itchyness) but then it just comes right back. I dont itch it, because when i do, it feels like the skin tore then it hurts to pee. I'm very scared about consulting anyone, because its very embarrassing at this age. I was wondering if there are any home rememdies that help it go way? I think it goes away on its own, but I'm still scared.... this happened just after I shaved my vagina, if that has anything to do with it. I'm not sure..... Please help!!!

all of you. no need to worry, this is just a yeast infection which can be cured by an over the counter cream that you rub on , around and inside.

I am a 23 non-virgin, though i havent been sexual active recently.  A few days ago, out of no where my vigina and clit have been incredibly itchy, to the point its almost unberable. My vagina is also very swollen at times, both of these things are to the extreme, almost to where its too painful to walk. I dont have a doctor thereforeits difficult to get it checked out. Also there are no noticable marks, or sexual changes, other than my public hair growing back. could this be the problem? there is also no smell. and i am very dry. what could be wrong? and what types of creams are safe to use? maybe even an unsented bosy cream? as it is the only thing i have on hand.

I think hair growing back can definitely be a reason for the itching.. the scratching on the other hand might cause the soreness and redness. I think if you wait a couple of days till the hair has all grown out the problem would hopefully disappear. I had the same itchy problem I think it has to do with me using the bike a lot as sport...

What helped the terrible irritation and itching was 1. warm water with soap-less products to clean the itchy area, 2. cotton pads dipped in chamomile and/or anise tea and patting the area with those pads it calms down the itching hence stops the scratching. 3. I passed petroleum jelly on the outer side (the lips of the v) and stopped with the daily hygiene pads (alldays... etc) for a couple of days. The itching and irritation was much better in a day and almost disappeared by the 3rd day. I hope this can serve at least as a temporary measure against the itching till one can visit a doctor.

p.s. I wouldn't use a normal body cream... even those unscented... it might cause further irritation and burn like hell! Made the same mistake... even tried an anti-rash/ anti-redness ointment and ran jumping to the bathroom to wash it off before i faint of pain.
