Hey everybody,

I had Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty to remove the bump on my bridge and narrow the base of my nose on May 10, exactly 10 days ago, and when I to see the doctor 2 days ago I was horrified. My family didn't make me feel much suggesting I wasted $7400. I share the same sentiments as many of you as my nose looks a bit like a lion and I have two small bumps on each side of my nose where my eyebrows are.

My doctor said that it was an excellent job and that it is still swollen quite a bit. He made an appointment with me in exactly two weeks to check my progress. He told me if majority of the swelling hasn't subsided in a month he will use steroids to dramatically decrease the swelling which gave me comfort knowing I have that option.

However, its been two days since the unveiling and so far each day my nose looks smaller which is a huge relief. I'm starting to see the potential of what my nose is going to look like and I'm loving it. I wouldn't be surprised to have most of the swelling to decrease in two weeks and my nose is feeling stronger and stiffer. If i press lightly on my nose it still a bit spongy from the effects of swelling but my profile is getting better as the days pass.

I was expecting a few months to heal and I had myself mentally prepared to handle the downtime but my nose doesn't agree and is healing at a faster pace. The only conclusion I can come to the speedy recovery is GREEN TEA, I have been drinking two cups every day ( morning and night).

I did some research and found an article that backs up my theory and it turns out that green tea along with pineapple juice reduces inflammation.

There is no need to panic, especially with how many people share the same experience which means this is a normal part of the recovery. Sacrificing a few months of your life won't hurt considering the long-term benefits.

So Good Luck everybody and happy drinking :D
