After 3 years with Mirena my periods started to be regular on the last 6 months. Last week I had my paps smear and I told my Gynecologist about it, she said the IUD "was there, but she'll send me somewhere else to have an ultrasound and see if the IUD was in place" Today I went for the "ultrasound" it was a gynecologist office I was ask to undress waist down, so I did, when the Dr came in he asked me what I was there for? I told him then he asked me to lie down he didn't do the ultrasound, he didn't even use a speculum just put his fingers in and pulled the IUD out, he said "it was out of place", I felt a little pain and cramps when he pulled it, I'm still bleeding some, but I'm very confused of what he did, everything was too fast, I thought he was just going to feel the strings and then do the ultrasound. How did he know it wasn't in place? Anyone had experienced something like this? Can he just check vaginally and know it's "out of place"? :-/
