I feel your pain but am here to tell you about a week after my ovarian cyst ruptured we found out that we were pregnant im 16 weeks due in July so it is completely possible...I know it's hard to wait but wait until you're a week late then test again it very well could be that that small amount of blood was implantation bleeding. I truely believe that as soon as you quit stressing and trying it just happens. Let me know what you find out

Hi everyone,

I stopped taking the pill at the start of Jan, when I had my last period. I have had sex throughout this time without condom but doing the pull out thing... I had a slight spotting around 2 weeks after last period. I am now about roughly 6-7 weeks late. I've had cramps in my lower abdomen the whole time since last period, including lower back pains. It feels exactly like before I get my period but weirder. Now, I also feel extremely bloated. I actually look about 3 months pregnant. But I'm not gassy at all. I also feel nauseous, especially in the morning and after meals. My boobs are sensitive. I've had fever chills. I sometimes get a weird taste in my mouth for no reason. So, all signs of pregnancy right? But I've taken 2 home pregnancy tests and they both came back negative. They were however bought in a cheap store and they were from the same packet, but I don't know if that matters... Anyway, I stopped taking the pill for about 1,5 months last year without a single problem. I had my period on time and it was all normal. But this time is just so weird. I know for a fact that my periods are weird. Before going on the pill I had irregular periods all the time. I also had my very first period super late - I was 17. I was also diagnosed with a very mild case of hypothyroidism last year. What do you guys reckon? If I'm not pregnant, then why all these weird and uncomfortable/ embarrassing symptoms?????

I hope this reply will help a bunch of you girls out there to calm down. I went to the doctor the other day, just to check this out (I posted a message here a few days ago, under the name of Someone). The doctor explained it like this: The pill is basically hormones which simulate a period, you don't ovulate at all, which means your period is kind of not a real period. When you then go off the pill, all your natural hormons start kicking in, actually they sort of rush in. That's why you can get all the pregnancy symptoms and feel weird, it's just your hormons going crazy. It might take a couple of months before your period actually comes back. And if your period was irregular before you went on the pill, it's very likely it will return to being irregular when you go off the pill. A reason to why you may be irregular could be because you have a very common disorder called PCOS. This can easily be detected through a blood test and ultra sound scan and can be treated. It's easy to freak out when your period is late and your first assumption is that you're pregnant. But it's quite rare that people fall pregnant straight after getting off the pill. So to all you girls who post your worries on forums like this, don't worry. If the home pregnancy test says you're not pregnant, then you are probably not. And if you're unsure, then go to your doctor to have it double checked. And I would highly recommend getting off the pill, even though these types of issues and worries may arise. In the long run the pill is really harmful to your body. You mess with your natural system and may develop really dangerous conditions such as blood cloths and breast cancer. I asked my boyfriend if he would ever get on the pill if there was one available for men. He told me "no, I feel uncomfortable with messing around with my seed, not knowing if it may lead to infertility or decease. And I do want to have the option of one day starting a family". Now, how is this any different to the situation that we girls are put in? We put our health on the line just so that we don't have to think about using a condom. In the 2 years that I was on the pill I felt sick all the time, spent thousands of dollars on medical investigations to find a source of this illness. Nobody wanted to address the pill in that sense. They refused to point out the link between my symptoms and the absurd amounts of hormons that I imposed on my body everyday. But when looking at it now, it's so obvious that it was the cause of everything. I think it's a tabu in the medical profession to point out the side effects of the pill, they are not supposed to have an opinion about it. Even when it's obviously harmful. The "free" woman who chooses to go on the pill represent the liberation of women in society, I think it's a symbol of our freedom to choose when to have children and when to focus on ourselves. Criticizing the pill in anyway therefore becomes a threat to this suposed liberation of women. Perhaps it's considered ethically wrong among doctors to warn about the side effects, which is absolutely absurd! I used to feel nauseous all the time, having problems eating, getting bloated, have diarea and constipation, on top of that I was chronically depressed if I wasn't overexcited and so filled with adrenaline that it scared me. This lead to heaps of complications, such as sorbitol intolerance, candida overgrowth, allergy to onions and sensitivity to red meat. Everything I heard from doctors was that I was stressed and depressed, it's IBS - just eat better. It was considered my fault that I was sick because of the lifestyle I was living, which in turn lead to real anxiety and depression. Nobody ever told me to get off the pill and my boyfriend was strongly against it. It was my own decision to get off the pill, because I saw the links between cause and effect. I had enough. And in a way, that is a more independent decision as a woman than being on the pill. Now that I'm off it, I can smell and taste more intensely, I feel excited while having sex, I have a more stable mood, I feel like myself again and my "IBS" symptoms are practically gone. Lesson learnt: get off the pill, use a condom, don't freak out if your period is late or if you start "feeling" pregnant. Just take a test, and if you're unsure just go see a doctor. Being a woman is awesome! A lot of love to you all out there.

So I know this was posted quite awhile ago, but I'm definitely in a similar boat. I'm 18, and my fiance and I have been together for 4 years, the last time we had sex was on my birthday, March 29, and we always use protection, but as a form of foreplay we usually start by not using a condom, but simply applying the condom a little later on. He always finishes inside me, but always with the condom on. About 3-5 days after we last had sex I spotted. Was maybe smaller than a dime size, but I did not start my period and the spotting didn't continue. Well about a week after, I would come home from class and pass out. It was impossible to stay awake I was so tired. I've never really had fatigue to such a level. I then started noticing I was going to the bathroom quite frequently, I use to be able to go a whole day without going to the bathroom until around 3:30 in the afternoon, but now I go to the bathroom atleast twice in an hour which is not normal for me, and I find every time I do go to the bathroom, I can't help but poop when I didn't even feel like I needed to. Sometimes its just a drop. Not to mention the strange amount of discharge I'm having. My periods haven't ever been "to the day" but they're never more than 3 days late. Well today is April 15 and last month I started March 5-10 So my period is late, and I just started to realize that my abdomen is very swollen. And somewhat stiff. I couldn't suck in even if I wanted to because of it. And my breasts also seem to be getting slightly bigger and firm. They're not extremely tender but they do feel strange. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and they've both came out negative. I've also made an appointment with my gyno. I have never been pregnant before and reading many of these forums I'm worried that they might come back negative but I can still be pregnant.mI'm just anxious and I have no idea what could be wrong with me. I'd love some advice. Thanks in advance.

Basically the same thing for me too guys!

So my period was due around last tuesday but it was a no show then on saturday i had some dark brown spotting and sunday i had a tiny bit of dark blood when i wipe. I have taken a test and it was negative but i am thinking it could be too early to test. you should test one week after a missed period but because my period can be a few days late a week could anywhere from this tuesday to this saturday. I am also thinking that my spotting could be implantation bleeding. I havent really had any other symptoms but i seem to be a little bit bloated and i seem to be weeing a bit more than usual. Even though i go the negative test result i just feel something is different or not right with my body, not necessarily  pregnant but i never get spotting or have these period problems so i am a little worried. guess ill play the waiting game!

Ok.....I´m a man...and as such not familiar with female etiquette. I stumbled by because my wife has these symptoms. Is this normal for a female forum? Tons of posts over 6 years, and not one person giving an update?

Hi, I am having the same issue, I'm not trying to get pregnant, I used an insertion contraceptive last month and this month im 4 days late, I have been feeling uncomfortable, dehydrated, fatigued, getting lower abdominal and back pain, my breasts feel normal. I have no idea what's going on and it's never happen before. I'm terrified to take a preggy test.
