My 35 yo son has had severe pain in his left testicle for the last 6 wks. Occassional swelling also occurs. He has had ultrasound, chest x-ray, blood work & CT of abdomen-all clear. But the pain, swelling continues. He took one round of Cipro after the initial ultrasound. Doc says must be nerves? My son is very worried as he's also lost a considerable amount of weight and the pain just continues to get worse. Any ideas as to what this could be?

Press for more tests. It could be any number of things. Sometimes a testicle can 'twist' which may be painful it could be that. Otherwise it might be an infection or possibly the early stages of testicular cancer. Again very hard to say but keep asking etter safe than sorry.
