Light Bleeding between period and a Foul Odor

So I was having light brown spotting whenever I would wipe and a terrible smell. I was goi g crazy wondering what it was. After reading this post I thought there is no way I have a tampon stuck inside me still. Felt around and of course I did. Thank the Lord for this site! I feel SOO relieved now!

I am 38 years old and after reading this post I went and checked myself and sure enough, it was a stucked tampon!. I freaked out, but I was able to remove it myself. I usually have extremely heavy periods and I change frequently and that's probably why it happened at the first place. :( never again! I am back on the pill now and supposetly my periods will be light and only last about three days. Thank god I found this site!

UNBELIEVABLE! If I didn't read through the comments then I wouldn't have checked if there was actually a tampon lodged inside. And I can't get over how I even forgot to take that out. I feel disgusted and disappointed with myself that this happened to me but oh well sh*t happens. Thanks so much to the one who said it could be a tampon.

Who the heck forgets to check their tampon? You do know that you are suppose to change them every two hrs right...like seriously how can you forget about a tampon unless you pushed another one in thinking you didnt put one in alrdy and must be a forgetful if you didnt feel the lodged one in there.... everything comes with instructions....my advice SWITCH TO PADS BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY CANT USE TAMPONS!!

Sitting here lauging at these hilarious posts. Thought I had cervical cancer, same symptoms...and OMG it was totatlly an old tampon much to my horror. Sucks to be a woman! But thank GOD for other women!

It was a tampon!!! Thank God!!! I was a bit tipsy after brunch the other day and took out my tampon to have sex with my bf since it was my last day anyways. I was shocked when I went to change it later and there was no string. I didn't think it was like me to not replace the tampon after we had sex just in case I was a little premature with the period ending assumptions. I alsodidnt have on a panty liner so I convinced myself I just never put a new one in. I smelled like the most rotten corpse for the past two days and made my bf stop having sex with me. He tried to act like he could barely smell it but I kept saying I wanted to gag. I actually checked yesterday, after reading this post, and I couldn't feel a tampon. I checked again today and it was right there!!! Thank you for this post!!!!!

So what if someone like me had never worn tampons and knows for sure that one is not stuck up in there? Then what. Doctors cost so much to go for them to keep telling me Im fine. and the last time I had this happen they took tests and it came out that it was just a small UTI, but now it seems worse this time , THe smell is there now instead of the light spotting.

Oh my goodness. Thank you EVERYONE! My story is exactly like everyone's on here! Same symptoms, and just googled what it could mean. "These don't relate to me" I thought! But, out of curiosity, I checked. And there is was! I have NEVER forgotten to take out a tampon before, but there is a first time for everything. Ladies, please check if you are having these symptoms and are a bit scared. Don't be embarrassed either. As you can see, IT HAPPENES.

God bless the internet!!! I thought there is no way in all of my 20+ years of being a menstruating woman, could this be true. But yes, it was an old tampon. Same as everyone has said above. I have no idea how this could of happened! So embarassing. But thank goodnes for this thread!

Holy c**p! Thank you for this. I'm 38 with five kids. Super heavy periods. I use 2 at once for two days. But I thought for sure I took last one out. Ugh! I can't even describe the horrid odor. My daughter could smell me after I went to the bathroom. We thought it was sour football under pads from my son. After reading this I thought, "what the heck..I'll check it out." Sure enough...the nastiest smelling tampon was in there!!!!!!! Gross!!! I was just contemplating throwing down $40 for those silicone "cups" in place of tampons. I think I'll consider it harder now. Thank you for this info everyone!!!

Wow! Omfg. OK so I search my symptoms, smelly brownish pink discharge and get this thread. Here I am thinking, there no way that it can be a tampon, what a bunch of dummies, who leaves a tampon in! Continue reading and think to myself, well it doesn't hurt to check....wtf! I'm the biggest id**t ever! Sure enough there's a tampon stuck up in the back of my vag. Embarrassing to say the very least. Do lucky we didn't get TSS!!! Good grief.

I feel like an id**t!!! I've read the post and was thinking there is no way I cud EVER forget a tampon inside me... but I figured wth just to rule out such a dumb thing I'll see and I WAS LIKE OMG!!!!! there is one inside me... relieved.... Yes I was.... feeling soooo stupid....Yes I am.... I'm 38 yrs old and all I can say is there is a first time for everything!!!!

My bleeding almost exactly in between my period is light and almost pink witha ddischarge, when I felt around with my finger, blood was more red like fresh blood. I went to doctors about 4 months ago,..went through std tests, pap smear and ultra sound and nothing cancerous and no std, she ended up telling me that I have a thick uterus lining, that it is hormonal,.... and gave me Estelle pill which stopped the bleeding and smell in between ...I recently stopen taking it and it's occurring again, I just haven't got around to buying it,...it still worries me though and want to get checked again, I'm just a worry wart I think, but what I can't understand is the smell, at first I thought it was a urinary tract thing as bleeding almost came from both holes (urinary and vaginally)which is what it looked like, but she said that that is impossible, ... I'm thinking there is more to it and want a proper examination, I was rushed through and explanation from doctor wasn't clear and full, so am planning to go for another check, or if someone can explain to the cause of the associated bleeding if it's hormonal, it would be much appreciated..
