Basically the same reaction from everyone else in the thread... I thought there was blood in my urine because it was so faint and only when I went to the bathroom. Sure enough, "lost" tampon... never in my life did I think I would be so careless!

Thank you thank you thank you! My husband had to fish it out (no pun intended) in the shower because I didn't know how it would feel and OMG the smell was unreal when he finally found it! I thought I had cancer. This has never happened to me before I'm 38!

I was having pinkish discharge with the worst odor ever like a week after my period. I have never had this before, so I googled it. Ladies, as I stumbled across this site/thread, I started laughing like, 'Who are all these ladies losing their tampons?! Like can people really lose their tampons? These women are hilarious.' As I read on post after post, I was like 'Could this be what is happening to me? No! Pffff. Crazy.' *envisions stirrups at doctors office and medical bill*....umm, maybe I'll walk over to the bathroom and see what I find. I KID YOU NOT, LONG LOST TAMPON!!! Crazy.

Omg this helped me tremendously!!! I couldn't figure out what was happening with my body. Then I read this and I was like surely I didn't forget to remove a tampon. So I done a quick examination and to my surprise there it was. My cramps went away almost immediately.

Im 29, had spotting after my period for an additional week, which i thought was weird but just attributed it to stress from school and work. The blood was intermittent though, not constantly spotting like I usually get at the end of my period, just really sporadic. Then I saw my boyfriend, and well, the smell was unreal. So so bad. Not a fishy odor, more like something rotting/ poop. And there was more brown/old blood but I felt no pain, didnt notice the tampon during sex at all. He mentioned that he felt something but I was like no, what? thats just my cervix you were hitting. Then after researching the smell and blood, I found this thread. Thank god. Took 2 hours but I finally pulled that f*cker out. If you have trouble getting it out (mine was like glued to my wall and apparently I have a 6 ft long vaginal canal), I would recommend taking a short bath to try and get the tampon to swell with water, then putting one leg up on a high counter and using your index or middle finger to try and scoop it out. What a learning experience.

I can't believe it! So grateful I came across this post. When I read "lost tampon" I honestly though no way it can't be that!! My boyfriend made me check until I discovered that this was actually the case! The smell was horrific.

Absolutely unbelievable! In 39 years (ok fine 27 I didn't start until I was 12) I have never done something like that! However lately I have been dealing with a lot of stress and have been very distracted. Sure enough I just went in and checked at pulled out 2 tampons instead of just the 1 that should have been there. I am so glad I found this post and also so very glad that it was obviously very recent.

I had a foul odor especially after sex after reading about the tampon, I had my partner feel around and sure enough I had a tampon lodged between my walls in my vagina. Omg I felt so relieved that I found what was causing that foul odor.
