Hey all,

I am a 25 year old South Asian female. have a faint gray line on my left ring finger. It has been there since 2012. Started off as a thin line, a bit darker when I first had it-basically looked like somebody drew a sharpie down my finger. My grandmother and aunt both have this so I figured it was ethnic related as I am South Asian and read that it occurs in light skinned individuals. I went to the derm in 2012 and he said it was probably ethnic related and took a picture and said to monitor it regularly. I kind of forgot about it overtime, but have been observing it on and off recently. It has certainly gotten lighter, but looks like it gained width. It hasn't gotten darker, nor irregular, just lighter but perhaps 1 mm wider. From what I read on the internet, I am getting a bit concerned and will try to follow-up with my derm again. But I was wondering if this is common with melonchyia.
