I,ve been having a discharge coming from my breast since April this year. My doctor said it is my hormones and referred me to the GYN to have them checked further. She said they might be able to give me some medication to control that. What is your opinion on this?

It depends if the discharge is coming from one breasts or both, if the discharge appears with or without breast stimulation. I think that other causes should be inspected.
Have you ever breastfed or pierced your nipples and do you have additional symptoms besides the discharge?
It could be hormones, it could be high prolactin levels that again has many causes, it could be bacterial infection but you would probably have other symptoms like tenderness, redness, flakiness, etc
It could also be a non-cancerous tumor within breast ducts. Malignancy is diagnosed in only 10% of all nipple discharge cases and in this case, the discharge is only from one breast. Discharge from only one breast could be because of other reasons as well.
