I injured my foot in August of last year. While at work I tripped over a chair on a catwalk got pinned against an air conditioning unit forcing all of my weight onto my twisted foot... CRUNCH... I went to emergency room where after an X-ray I was told I had a sprained ankle, was given an ace n bandage and an ibuprofen and sent home. I drove the van back to the shop and my phone rings. It's the hospital saying they made a mistake and said they think I fractured my heal. Mind you the adrenaline is masking the pain that was to comes short while later. Anyway, I go back to the hospital where after an hour I got a CT scan.i sat in the lobby for another 4 hours until I detonated on the front desk... It was a miracle. Suddenly I had two doctors, 3 nurses wheeling me to my own room where I was giving strong pain medication and a splint explaining to me I have several small fractured and a severe fracture called the lisfranc.... I was then sent home and started the process of workers comp. I went to see my new Orthopedic surgeon. Surgery was needed so just shy off a month I had procedure done. A plate and 4 screws were installed.
From day 1 the pain has been off the map. The first night was the hardest as nothing I took made a dent. So now, over 7 months later, I still have pain. A lot of pain. Every single day, never ending pain. My big toe and his next door neighbor... The length of my foot, hurts no matter what. You can triple that pain when I try too bear weight on it. I take pain meds everyday. If I don't take the meds I suffer more.
My doctor says that I should be farther along which leads me to believe he missed something. says my X-rays look great and that I am in alignment. Who cares if I am in this much pain. Is it that he is a workers comp doc? Or did hemiss something? It's funny to me that my doctor paints nothing but blue skies and sunshine while everything I read on this injury has a bleak forecast which certainly fits my situation may more than the doctors opinion.
Anyone have a comment to help fill in the gaps?
thankvyou........
Steve
