My friend gave me this diet in which you loose 20lbs in a week. It sounds pretty harsh but I think I can do it, I was just wondering if I could suffer from any side effects if I lose so much weight suddenly.

I don’t think it is healthy as it will most likely cause a stress to your organism. Such diets make you gain even more once you stop dieting. You need to be real careful or you may end up twice as big. I tried such diet once when I tried to loose only 6 pounds and when all my troubles began, when I gained 40 lbs more in two years time after this. It was really awful. It took me a long time to realize that I needed a healthy and well balanced diet, with no eating late to start losing weight healthy. Even if you decide to go through with this one, make sure you don’t continue to eat normally once you stop with this diet or you will gain all of it back. You may use this one to get you going and then continue another one but less drastic to your body.
