Loss of Taste after Tonsillectomy

Hi. I am 6 months into my recovery. I'm finding I can taste again but everyday is different one day I have the sweet metallic kinda stinking bitter taste and sometimes I am completely fine. Recently food started tasting more sweet and thats new. How are you now? What does chocolate taste like? Would you say the taste came back 100%?

Hello! Has anyone had their taste return to normal?

I am on the same boat as you. I had my surgery the end of July and now it's almost November. The food doesn't taste good anymore, chocolate is the worst. My hot chocolate doesn't taste the same anymore. Most of the food I can taste is the saltiness. I can't eat Hamburg anymore, doesn't taste right. Since the surgery I have lost almost 13 lb. When I cook, I have to let someone try it for me to make sure that I don't add anything too much in it because of my weird taste in my mouth. I wish someone can give the answer when it will be better. One thing that I don't regret is I don't get sore throat anymore, before the surgery I was sick every other week.
