I have had 2 iron transfusions to remedy a long standing low iron count (since the birth of my son 9 years ago!) of 28 with a transferrin saturation of 7. During the last transfusion I broke out with hives. My most recent CBC still shows low hemoglobin 11.5, low hemacrit 34.8, high RDW 19.1 and low absolute moncytes of 184. What does the continued low absolute moncytes mean? What does this all mean 3 weeks since my last transfusion?
