I am a 40 year old female and have always been regular with my cycle. For the last 5 days, I have had lower left abdominal pain. I notice it more when walking, breathe deep and turn my torso. My period started yesterday, but still have the pain. I have never had this before and have always been regular with no other issues.

Assuming that you do not have a palpable protrusion (inguinal hernia) on your lower left abdomen, you have symptoms of sports hernia, a weakening or tear on the lower abdominal wall due to sudden, forceful, or repetitive motion. This happens more commonly in physically active people. Physical activity will aggravate this condition, as you have already noticed. Wearing a pressure belt around your abdomen and refraining from vigorous physical activities will allow your injury to heal over time.
