i had a penile implant for 5 years now .i went to the urologist to check a lump floating in my scrotum.dr think it's maybe a connector detached from my prothtetis & ther's a lesion detached from my prothtetis also, but the implant still working great, good erection,or the dr also think it might be a lump or cyst in my scrotum not attached to nothing a combination of blood or semen residue from the past.does someone have the same problem.

i appreciate an answer bcause i'm kind worry,

I assume they've already done ultrasounds and other imaging studies on it. Does it cause pain or get in the way of normal functions? Are you able to still produce sperm?

dear friend .thank you for answering me,indeed.i did twice ultra sound,no cancer,2nd ultra sound some fluid around it.some fluid comes while intercourse but no semen what so ever.no pain at all.not in the way.it,s a small pea size perfectly round smooth to touch, very hard like a metal.ultrasound tech think it's piece of my implant, the dr say ......maybe definetely is a connector detached, and ther's lesion detached, the way i understand it ,the body tissues or flesh is away from the implant.that's why i'm little worry .with all that the prosthtetis still working .dr said if it's lump or implant part i'm not going to remove it of course.because everything is going well now.how can a connector b detached & the implant is working .well jca what you think

You can also try to ask for a second opinion from another urologist - a specialist/surgeon NOT in the same clinic or hospital. Research your city, county, or state to see if there is another specialist who deals with penile implants and ensure he has done this type of work many times before. Schedule a consultation with him or her, bring your ultrasound images and reports, as well as prior notes from your surgeon.

Your main questions are:

- What could this be?

- Is this something I should worry about with regards to functionality of the implant and related organs?

- Any suggestions as to what to do?

- At what point should I come and see a doctor or seek immediate medical attention?

Get it all in writing. If you cannot obtain a second opinion, then ask these same questions to your surgeon. Let him or her know you are very worried.

I think, at this point, most surgeons and specialists would hold back on doing anything about your case unless it's a cancer or maybe a hernia. Anything else (i.e., cyst, implant piece, haematocele, hydrocele, etc.) they are likely to leave alone. I'm not a professional, not a doctor, but surgery of any kind in this area is liable to leave a lot of scarring and make things worse.
