Hello fellow RH - friends,

I'm AB- and have arthritis and fibromyalgia. RH - factor runs heavy along with auto immune disease in my family. God bless and stay vigilant with your health. In my opinion, laughter can be the best medicine. ;-)

I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with Iga nephropathy which is a rare autoimmune disease as a child which has now escalated to chronic kidney disease as it flared up in adult life also rh negative, I have asked my doctor about the connection to blood type and they seem to brush it off, there's definitely a link

I am O-. I have Relapsing Polychondritis. Onset of symptoms was at age 17. I'm wondering if the negative RH in our blood is a factor in autoimmunity. Or, perhaps the shots that Rh- negative mothers take during pregnancy may also be a factor.

Hi I have had a theory also on this my mother is also rh negative, I was born 18 months after my older brother who has rh+ which means my mother would have had the shots when pregnant with him, I can't help thinking maybe the shots she had with him has affected me as I came along a short while after, do you have any siblings with rh+ blood type?? Did your mother have the shots prior to having you??

I am rh negative & have RA. My mom is negative & my dad is positive. I had the shot to protect a possible rh positive baby. 5 years later I was diagnosed. The more research I do Im convinced this has to be a cause.

I think there is a massive coverup on this to prevent people from suing the nhs there has to be more research done, if any RH + are reading this, do you have any autoimmune diseases? Is your mother RH - and did she receive the shots? It would be interesting to know as everyone on this feed who has autoimmune problems is RH - so I am wondering if it's only RH - who suffer from these conditions.

Great question re RH- and Lupus. I am Rh- O type and have had problems with autoimmune issues (PCOD, Hashimotos, Graves, probably celiac but won't eat gluten so can't test for that, IBS, arthritis ) and present with RA and Lupus like symptoms but never meet the criteria for this. I have a theory that the RH- antibody fools the standard IgG and IgM tests - have always wondered if anyone has teased out IgG and IgM for Rh- factor or if they can even be separated which would explain this? I never seem to fail these labs no matter how sick I am or despite high autoimmune labs. Hence I never meet "criteria" and continue to be sick with no diagnosis. You may want to have an immunology work up - my complement is low and I am undergoing testing for this as well.

Hi I am the poster with the Iga nephropathy and chronic kidney disease, this also happens with me when they done a lupus test on me it came back positive although the doctor said I do not have lupus and that this often happens, I'm guessing this only happens with RH- people at my next clinic appointment I am going to raise these questions to the doctor, I will keep yous posted on the outcome

Hi. I was wondering if you've had any luck im your research and or personal testing and symptoms? Your story sounds extremely similar to mine except I actually had a positive Ana and also lymes test. But the crazy rheumatologist I went to said fibro and chronic fatigue syndrome. I don't get it, I definitely do not feel ok! I would love to chat more with you about this!

I too have been having problems for a looong time, so bad that I actually had to quit my job because stress and the physical exertion seemed to bring the symptoms on even worse. I went to a family Dr finally(because all the Drs in the past had tested my blood count and thats it and when it came back negative for nothing they just gave up on me. So I began to hate drs) so Finally it got so bad I went back. They once again only ran regular tests. Which came back irregular one time, they did a follow up test it came back fine so now they dont want to proceed with any further testing. All the while Im sitting here feeling like my body is fighting against itself. I get literally sick in the heat or the cold, my joints hurt, im swollen in my ankles and hands, my face is always red, Im tired no matter how much sleep i get, a normal trip to the grocery store feels like I have been up for hours and running for miles and miles, I have HORRIBLE periods, I have Horrible headaches and sinus problems, I even have scabs now forming on m scalp I mean EVERY part of my body seems to be malfunctioning. I then got on here and done some research. I found that all my symptoms point towards an autoimmune disorder. I called the Dr whom said that the other tests came back fine so theres really no reason to do any thing else. Great for them I guess bad for me though. I mean I KNOW Im not crazy. SO I go look into it a little further and find that RH negative blood may play a role and i HAVE RH negative blood! My aunt also had RH negative blood and had lupus and also developed cancer which eventually cost her her life. I also had a child whom had hydranencephaly whom died at 19 mths and she too had a child with the same disease but she only lived 3 days. AND that is a rarity in itself cause hydrAnencephaly (different than hydrOcephely) is a one in a million deal. NO Drs had seen a baby like my Brianne in this entire state. Anyways it cannot be a coincidence that I have this blood type and feel the way I do. I KNOW stuff like lupus is also HARD to detect. Because one day one test may be negative one day it may be positive and I just think Drs give up too easily anymore. Now I have had 2 false positive pregnancy tests in the past year, and i have now found that too could be related to some type of autoimmune disorder. I am once again growing tired of Drs who just dont care or who are too lazy or who simply believe Im exaggerating but I cannot take this c**p much longer. ALL the signs point to an autoimmune disease. ALL of the hundred symptoms that I have even the false pregnancy tests. SO whats the deal. They look at me like Im stupid when I go in and say I think I have Lupus or something similar. SO next time Im going to mention the RH negative thing but I still dont expect much if anything at all. I dont think they want us to get better. I mean they could literally be on the verge of a medical breakthrough by relating blood types and illnesses together and may even be able to find a cure for things and still they sit and act as thought nothings wrong even though you tell them it isnt so. I am SOO glad I found this article, and I hoping and praying with every breath in m body that maybe this may lead me to finally figure out whats going on. SO thank you so much for this. I dont feel alone anymore.
