which do you prefer?
i have a hankerin' for a mac. my pc has been driving me bloody mad the last two weeks and i'm finally just going to go buy my own computer.
i'm just looking for a good system that'll let me have quality music, and let me mess around on the more creative side of things (music, pictures, media)... the whole word processing thing isn't high on my list. though, i'll be doing some accounting stuff on it too. the focus is entertainment, but i will have work to do in the fall when school comes around...
oh, and it's going in my room so i want it to look purdy. none of this dull computer biznass.

If I recall your one of our younger posters, no? High school or college? If you like gaming at all go with the PC. Can't find too many games for the Mac...and if you can, they've usually been on the PC market for years.
If you want style and looks and are going to predominantly work on video and audio editing type stuff, the Mac will be your better bet. The new Imac's with a 17 display are pretty sweet.

i don't *do* computer games. ;)
i basically download a whole whack of music, and given the genre, i'm more then interested in having to remix/edit songs (especially the ones that just won't fit on your cd :x ).
i like tinkering in photoshop...
as for software? i don't have any... my dad on the other hand has PC software coming out the wazoo.
but it's starting to get tired. i'm looking for something fresh.

well how it looks has nothing to do with how it functions.
if you could pick between two cars that cost near the same and did basically the same, wouldn't you pick the one that looked the best?
i don't want a bland cream colored box sitting in my room. if i had a choice i'd pick a nicer looking one. :)
