Hi. I'm 36 year old male and recently I have suffered from really serious heartburn problems and sour stomach. I have contacted my gastrologist who performed a gastroscopy and determined that I have a small ulcer on my stomach wall. Probably, my stomach acid is to strong and I need to neutralize it more.
Supposedly it can be done with drinking milk all the time and taking some antacids medications.
He prescribed me this Maalox drug and I'm taking it almost a month now. All my stomach problems are disappeared but some strange acne appeared on my stomach and neck. Could it be from using this medication?

Hi. I'm using this Maalox drug and I have never experienced any side effect but I know a lot about it and will try to help you.
Like you said, this drug belongs to group of medications called antacids which absorb and neutralize stomach acid.
They can be used both- on empty and on full stomach but work longer if they are being taken after meal. Problems with antacids is that they interfere with many drugs and, although, acne are not among usual side effects of this drug- combining with some other medications that you're probably using- acne could occur.
That’s why I suggest you to contact your GP and to tell him what other medications you are using.
