It is a very normal body mechanism to urinate or to have an urge to urinate after ejaculation. Men urinate to clean off the semen left in urethra and if you do not pee semen would deposited and be solidified in the urinary pathway resulting in a painful urination. My suggestion is that, urinate soon after ejaculation and squeeze out any remaining semen before urinating. If you delay it would be definitely a painful one.

Try an experiment, after ejaculation collect your semen in a dish or balloon/condom/hand etc. and wait for 10-15 minutes, within that time your semen would definitely get coagulated to form a translucent semi solid. This thing also happen in your urethra if you do not urinate
