In England the normal ones are but not all the services. Doctors complain but here also dramatic cases are common. You know when you go to a private dentist , you pay more for a better service, but I do prefer it as I know I can have everything done and I do not worry that I can do this or cannot do another thing. So I prefer to pay 135 pounds for whitening and 220 for whitening with two fillings and then it all costs me 30 less than in the UK...I simply do it for my own savings both money and time....

You know, I have met plenty of dentists who first of all were there just to make money, I do not like NHS, unless you find a decent dentist, they I why I decided to fly to my private dental poland clinic. I am not surprised more people to the same. Prices with private ones are too high. Good luck with finding a new dentist:)

Yeh some do treatment on the NHS and some don't. It's not like regular health services though you still have to pay if you're at an NHS dentist, its just subsidised.

Now my dentist is private I pay £50 for a check up and polish every 6 months compared to £16.50 on the NHS.

Does the health insurance you take out in the States cover dental care?

And fragiledream, how long do you spend in Poland? Do you have to take a week off work or anything?

Hi . I do not live in US. but in the UK so it is not that far, something like 2 hours by plane and I usually take around 5 days off to fly to dentalpoland and spendsome days there to get everything done. In the UK not everything is covered by NHS and that hurts and sometimes you wait and for other stuff you pay. Id depends on the insurance, without it you have no chances.

Is there a waiting list for something like that in UK? I'm not very familiar with your health system so you have to forgive my ignorance. :)
