I've been taking Meloxicam for the past 7 months for a monster heel spur. The first 5 months 15mg once per day and the past 2 months 7.5mg twice a day. I've gained 20 pounds and recently began to have dizzy spells and other health issues that I've read on the internet as being side effects. (Constipation, bloating, fatigue, etc). The dizzy spells were intense and lasted for just over 24 hours. I stopped taking it last Friday and since then every joint aches beyond belief. I'm also extremely fatigued, shaky, cold, stiff, have headaches, emotional, etc. I don't sleep well because I'm hurting al night. I decided to go back on the 7.5mg once per day yesterday and today the dizzy spells started again. I met with my doc on Tuesday about all the achy joints and fatigue and told her I stopped taking the Meloxicam cold turkey the previous Friday. She never said one word about it being linked to any of my symptoms and instead ran a barrage of blood tests and ran an ekg. Results came back within normal limits with the exception of my being mildly Vitamin D deficient. I've read that's the latest trend in diagnosis now. So I'm supposed to take 5000 units of D3 each day for 2 months and if that doesn't help with the fatigue she wants to do a stress test. I basically don't know what to do about the Meloxicam at this point. Do I keep taking it and ween myself slowly or stop altogether. Ugh!
