I have this problem, but i'm not sure exactly how to classify it. I've been worried it might be some sort of mental disorder... or maybe just a phobia? Okay, so whenever i think about blood, or about muscles or veins or arteries or anything like that, i start to get really weak and queasy, and my eyes start tearing up like i'm going to start crying. Sometimes i get dizzy, but I've never fainted. When we had to do a dissection in biology class I turned really pale and i felt weak, so my teacher told me not to do it. When we learn about the inside of the body, i have to focus on a poster or something and block it out, and it's really hard to write because my whole body stars feeling weak, and my hands can't hold the pen. And i can't look at anything showing the inside of the body either. It's been happening for a really long time, but i don't know what to do. Please help me, if you can :(

Hi,

I think those are the symptoms of the phobia. There are some truly bizarre phobias out there, but i could not find the exact one that describes you. The closest one i could find is called Hemophobia, the fear of blood.

If you have this phobia, than it would explain much about your symptoms. It does make sense, you can't stand to look at anything which is related to blood. The inside of our bodies are full of blood, veins, arteries, muscles.

As for the treatments you can do two things. One is to  is to do cognitive-behavioral therapy. You will learn to replace your fearful thoughts and bad reactions to it, with healthier responses.

But if your phobia is really severe you can control it with medications. The best thing to do is to consult with an expert, but have in mind that this is curable. Good luck
