My husband was addicted to Loratab for over 6 years. He couldn't function without chewing 6 to 10 at one time. His attempts to stop on his own never worked. We live in a rural area where everyone knows everyone's business but he needed help. He started going to a treatment center over 6 months ago. He started out at 30mg and was doing great. They kept uping him until he was at 75mg. He has asked to be brought down. Last week, they gave him the impression he was now on 50mg. When he asked today, they showed him it was 75mg. He still has some pain from injuries but all he wants is Aleve or Motrin for that. He hates driving about 70 miles and keeps threatening to stop cold turkey. That scares me because I don't want him to go through the hell of withdrawals and slip back to buying illegal narcotics.
He has never failed a drug test but they still want to up him (for the money, I guess). Doesn't the patient have any say in treatment at these methadone clinics?
