Quick question...I have been told that methadone is a fat soluable drug and therefore gets stored in your fat cells. I am a big guy. 6'4 and 310 pounds. I was on methadone for 15 years and stopped this past March. I was told by my doctor that I needed to drop some weight because I wasn't getting younger and needed to start taking care of my health. I started a diet two weeks ago and so far have lost 9 pounds. My question is, would it be possible for a drug test, specifically looking for methadone, to come up positive because of my ongoing weight loss. If some methadone or it metabolites are stored in fat cells and these fat cells are being broken down because of the weight loss it seems possible that a drug test may come up positive for the methadone even though I havent taken it since March. Any nurses, doctors, dieticians, chemists out there that know if this is possible or not? Thanks,
Paul
