i just recieved a call today saying if i wanted a fulltime job with benifits health, dental 401 k i need to get off methadone by next week... umm? how? i dont want to feel like im going to die.. i know how it feels i felt it coming off perks and going on methadone. i hate the aches and the sickness.. im very scared but i am truely ready. if i have to i will go to the hospital. my worker also told me to take benydrl. have you ever heard of that? she is not a doctor! so what do you think? im thinking im going to come down daily and then cut cold turkey.. no work, at home.. kids being taking care of.. how bad can it be? but is benydrl a good choice?

I strongly suggest you consult a detox unit or responsible, honest doctor that understands addiction and withdraws. I think it will take a little more than benydrl, I would defiantly go to the hospital if it is at all possible and if you think it is not, make it possible. You will need monitering and a recovery plan and program in place or you will end up back on either drug and have no life let alone a job with benefits. Get some help, don't do it alone.
