Hiya'll. So about 5 months ago, I started having upper left abdominal pains, and just general abdominal discomfort. I went to the doctors, and got it checked out. I got an ultra sound, and they said that I had an enlarged spleen, and just to make sure it was nothing more serious, they did some blood work, and I tested positive for mono -- better than some alternatives, so I was alright with it. Well, now it's been nearly 5 months, and I still get these pains. I never had any other symptoms of Mono except for these spleen pains. I also had pains on my right and in the middle, but they were always shawdowed by these left side pains. I asked my doctors about the other pains, but they just gave me, "Sometimes Mono can last a long time..." they never answered my question. Has anyone else had these pains for a long time? I want to kind of go back to the doctors, but I don't wanna pay $200 so they can tell me to rest up more. The pain isn't like, severe. It never wakes me up, it's never brought me to my knees... it's more just uncomfortable. Anyone else have any input? It'd be appreciated. :) Thanks for reading!

What type of pains would you say they are?  I would think 5 months would be a long time for mono symptoms to last.  Perhaps you should seek a second opinion.  I am not sure why you would have pains to the middle and right side of your abdominal.  Does taking any Tylenol help out any for the pain?  If you don't already take something, try it and see if it helps any.  If this pain does not interfere with your eating, sleeping, or activities you do during the day, and you have no other symptoms, it sounds like something that will just have to go away on its own.  If it gets worse, see another medical professional right away.
