I had an MRI lower back/tailbone done on Friday last week (it’s now Thursday following)... was on the bottom end of my period and I was expecting it to finish over the weekend. I remember feeling a warm feeling in my tummy during the MRI and feeling a little strange but just put it down to the waves of magnetism and the loud noise.
Over the weekend I went from spotting to bleeding heavily (but it was all dark, warm brown coloured blood, not red/maroon like my blood is normally), and this bleeding was a different consistency to what I normally get. Colour has over the week gotten back to ‘normal’ and thickened again, however tonight I find that (although small) I’m passing quite tough, rubber-like clots.
Talking to my doc about it tomorrow but like the rest of us we’ll just get told there’s no link.
Time to start calling on families and friends to lobby for a study.

I was put to sleep for these mri's . I had all these mri's on the 17th of February, 2021 and came home feeling like c**p and even now still ,on February the 25th feeling bad.
The main reason I am posting this is because I started my period today ,February, the 25th and am not supposed to start until next month on the 5th of March..???? I just had 6 days of my period starting on the 5th of February!!!
Can anyone help me to understand this???

An MRI machine is like a hugh magnet. Could a strong and changed magnetic field influence the menses? The moon for example is primary responsible for the tides of the ocean and they say it also effects our menses. The moon has a 'variable' magnetic field..

Me - 56, 3 years since periods stopped. MRI lumbar spine & sacral (lower back) no contrast. Felt uncomfortably warm/hot during the scan & felt too warm in that area for most of day. Next day, lower back pain kicked in big-time, which was odd because I'd had very little pain for 2-3 months previously. Also feeling oddly too warm, uncomfortable & a bit bloaty in that area for that week. One week after scan, a spot of bright red blood & then full cramping/bloating/period type pain arrived & stayed. Now 2 weeks since scan, & can't tell which is most painful my back or abdomen & it's keeping me awake. Told doctor, who said it's nothing to do with MRI & just put me on cancer pathway & booked hysteroscopy & all that scary invasive stuff. So glad my husband found this site for me. It's been sad to see how many have had similar experiences but reassuring to know I'm not imagining it or mad, and thank you to those who said it goes back to normal after couple months. I shall be having my pre-hysteroscopy consultation about that time. It will be interesting to see how I am by then & what the consultants think of it all.
