I jucst recently found out that I have a cervical infection that is mrsa. I don't even know what that means. I was told it could be very serios if it spreads. How did I get it, in my cervix? Where does it come from? Will it result to other illnesses like cancer; will I die from it? I am completely lost, and hopefully someone can shead some light on this situation for me. I need to see a specialist, but am not scheduled anytime soon. Can I have sex during this time or what?

MRSA is VERY SERIOUS!

it stands for methacillin resistant staphacoccis aurous
What that means is that it is a type of bacteria infection that can not be treated by any type of penicillin type of drug cause the infection has built up such a resistance to it.

This type of infection starts out in a skin surface and can get in your blood stream as well as other tissues in the body. Your cervix is considered a surface area.

Staph is EVERYWHERE these days, there is no telling where you got it from. More than likely though you may have had a tear on your cervix from some rough sex causing an opening for an infection to come in. Now the possiblities from having a tear and getting an infection there is from either the guy you was with may have been carrying it on his hands, his mouth, or his penis and gave it to you during sex, second could be from one time you didn't wash your hands before inserting a tampon and transfered the infection to your tampon before insertion.

I would advise you to NOT have sex cause this could only make it worse or you could possible give to a partner.

I would advise you to properly clean your self. Make SURE you wiping front to back cause you DO NOT want to get MRSA in your bladder.

I WOULD advise you to check the rest of your body out for any suspcious bumps or blisters cause this could also be MRSA as well.

Practice good hygine.

and most of all.. Any antibotic the DR gives you FINISH IT NO MATTER WHAT! even if you do get the worse ever yeast infection it, you need to finish it. MRSA orginated from staph infected people who did not finish their antibotics and that strained of the bacteria got stronger and bigger making it self resistant to antibotics. And now MRSA has also progressed to even stronger version of VRE which is a vancomycin resistant staph infection. So PLEASE finish your antibotics.

And if you have any doubt that you may have got it from a guy have him get checked out. Be aware that MRSA is NOT a STD, but can be spread like on, But can also get it as easily as having an open wound on your hand and shaking someone elses hand that also has open wound.

And since you have been diagnosed with MRSA, anytime you are in the hospital please be considerate and tell anybody that has contact with you that you have had MRSA inthe past or present so they can take the precautions of protecting themselves as well other patients. NOT Only for that reason, but just because you've had MRSA before you will be more likely to get it come back if you immune system weakens or you have surgery or any wounds.

I may have scared you, and I'm sorry. MRSA is a nasty little bug, and working in the health care feild I've seen this bug defeat the strongest. Just be aware, research on the internet, ask your doctor for information, they should be able to print you out information on it.
