Hello! My mom has been diagnosed with mvp a couple of moths ago. I don’t know if mvp is hereditary but two days my tongue got swollen and I was wondering if this problem has anything to do with mvp. Could I have it too?

Hello there! I think that mvp is generic in origin, but at the same time I don’t think that your tongue swelling is a sign of MVP. There are many other problems and conditions that cause tongue to swell. These are: acromegaly, amyloidosis, strep infection, cancer of the tongue, congenital micrognathia, hypothyroidism, infection, leukemia, lymphangioma, neurofibromatosis, pellagra, pernicious anemia and tumor of the pituitary gland. So, the best thing for you is to go to a doc and have your tongue checked!
