Hi Craig. I too am suffering and am on day five. Having a bm or many each morning is just like childbirth. Maybe even worse. Did you feel healed after 2 weeks?

Yes I have been the same. 3 days very ill from anaesthetic on top of everything else. How are you now. Such a painful thing to have done.

I had RAFAELO on 12th of October 2017 (they fry the lesion at 120C with an RF probe Under a local). Took 45 minutes to do 3 grade threes. Took painkillers for less than a day afterwords. No bleeding at all after 2 weeks. Incredible procedure

Hi I have had THD one week today. It had been 5 days if terrible pain and then suddenly yesterday I felt much better. I still feel a lot of pressure and a weird feeling inside my rectum like a wire or irritation keep thinking I need the loo. Every so often I go, about 10 times a day ATM. I just wanted to ask you how long it took you to get to a more regular pattern with the bm's. and fir the pressure and heaviness in the rectum to ease. How are you now ? Thank you

I am female and I still could not urinate after the procedure. Nobody told me about that. Even when I got home I was just pushing out little bits at a time. It really worried me as I was unaware it was due to the surgery. It took me 5 days to get back to normal flow. I was also told that I would have almost no pain after the op but it was absolutely crucifying for about a week even with pain killers. You need a lot of strength to take on this op. It's the worst pain I have ever experienced. Then all of a sudden starts to go.

Hi Annabel, I am 10 days post op from this procedure and like you cannot stop having bm's ..I am having about 10-12 per day. More often than not it is only mucus or a tiny thin stool.. I just wondered how you are now? Did this stop happening? Thank you

I can answer this. I had a REALLY tough time for 10 days. Severe pain, unable to sleep, bleeding and swelling. I mean, praying for death level pain. I was beyond miserable. I felt much better by week 2 and even better by week three. The swelling went down after a few months and I still have some skin tags but apart from intermittent itching, I feel WORLDS better. I'm SO glad I did this. I am SO much better than I was before. Unfortunately, the only way out is through. Hang in there!

This surgery is awful. I am 11 days in and I cannot be more unhappy. I wish there was a medically induced coma they can put you in until it's healed. There is no reason to be alive during this torture.

I had the op done in Oct 2017. It’s now April 2018 and for 2 months I’ve had consistent bleeding with bowel movements and my piles have come back. I’m back to square one. I can’t believe it. I’m devastated. I really thought this thd procedure had worked for me. It’s as if they have slowly set themselves free from surgery.
I had skin tags done at the time so I was advised 2 weeks off work but I’d read so much about 3/4 days recovery that I thought I must be wimping out and went back to work after 1 week. I could barely sit and as I have a mostly desk job I had an uncomfortable and painful second week. It was too soon I realise. At my check, around 6 weeks later I think, the doctor said I had skin tags removed and I should’ve had the full 2 weeks, that apparently makes it more painful. But I wasn’t told that at the time.
I am going to contact my surgical consultant this week and see if I can get seen again. It was HORRENDOUS but when it was working I felt amazing. No more bleeding. I could wear white knickers. I didn’t worry about intimacy. But now. It’s all back again. I could cry :(

I just had the same procedure last Friday May 4. Your story sounds exactly like mines. The crazy thing is I had all three surgeries... the last and final is The THD... I sure pray this is it... I don't think I could handle another procedure... I had bleed afterward too. But to know it normal for a while I'm feeling good.. I just want to know how long does it take for the hemorrhoids to completely shrink... Even after a week I'm still having discomfort but by the ones external that hasn't shirk yet....
