Hi how would i know if my child has this problem

Husband and I were doing it in Bedroom, and all of a sudden we looked up and seven year old was standing master-bating watching us .

LEARN THE WARNING SIGNS. There's no excuse for adults today to be uneducated about signs of trauma in our children. Excessive masturbation at that age, sometimes done in public, is one of the most obvious signs of the child having been sexually abused. 

You may rather believe nothing bad has happened to your child, or that it's just normal curiousity about their sexual sensations, or that it's just child-like imitation. Maybe that's true. But don't dismiss the possibility of abuse just because it's uncomfortable to think about. At least have your child be seen by a child psychologist so you can be sure.

Find one trained in trauma who has experience avoiding pitfalls such as asking leading or embarrassing questions. Children will almost always tell the truth when they feel safe and unpressured. Non-verbal children can express themselves with puppets, dolls, or artwork. Even if they've been threatened by an abuser the psychologist will see that quite clearly, and deal with it appropriately. And rest assured, an ethical doctor will not fabricate a story of abuse if he/she finds no evidence of it. 

Better safe than sorry, people. I speak from experience. Your child will thank you later.

You sound like a baby sitter I had who shamed me for doing this when I was young and I carried that shame around, thinking that I was a bad person, for about 30 yrs.

I have been researching this topic for hours. Not a single person has recommended there child see a therapist, or some sort of professional help. There are teenagers on these sites who state they have done this. Obviously searching for answers... why? Think! Obviously these sits are filled with ignorant parents or child molestors. It is not normal. Occasional touching or flicking is normal not consistent masterbation. By the way, I am the ignorant a-hole. Don't trust these sites. Get your child seen by a professional child therapist.

My biggest mistake was researching information about a serious topic as this rather than getting my daughter help. Get your child seem by a professional, and not some teenage girl trying to figure out why she's so screwed up. My daughter started at four. She's nine now and still does this. After finally talking/ meeting a therapist we know why.
Get the first step done which is seek professional help!

I would say you should sit and talk to her. What your six year old daughter is doing very wrong. My friend is a doctor and asked him about masterbating at a very young age, and he said he/she can damage their own gender parts especially for young kids under 12. So I would fully RECOMMEND to stop the habbit she is doing or else the addiction of masturbation can go on for a long time and she can damage the parts of her organ.

My girlfriend has two daughters that are nine and eleven and without medication they compulsivey masterbate all day long. They regularly see therapists. When they were young their father molested them both. We have forgotten to give them their pills and by nite time they are both naked masterbating constantly. They have forgotten their pills and that nite woke their grandfather straddling his face with their naked bottoms. They used to pull their pants down anywhere and start fingering themselves. Their therapists says it was partly because of being molested. It's getting better now but we both used to wake up before we found the right doctor and have them in our bed performing orally on us both or walk into their room and see them performing orally on each other. So it's partly medical and partly physical. It took two years to find this out.we thought they were just born that way. I had neighbor girls that were born extremely sexual.all three had sex at ten or eleven.they taught me to masterbate at ten and we started having sex when they were nine .

My girlfriend also has a sister with a nine year old boy diagnosed with the same condition.started at three or four and got constantly worse..She has caught him performing orally on a friend in their garage more than once. And woke up with her nite gown pulled up and him behind her pumping away.

My daughter age 5 does it alit also, she gets very very nervous at school or while on long car trips .worse is when we fly somewhere.... I let her masterbate before school in bed and while in the car or on a plain with a blanket over her so no one sees her ... Last year I bought her a lil purple vibator she loves it .( Birthday gift )
