Today is 12/3. I had the surgery done at 1:00 pm on 12/1, so I'm about 48 hours into this. I'm female; 42 years old (mom of two).
DAY 1: Surgery day- I was afraid of having surgery because of all the horror stories, so I was pretty nervous going in. The surgery part was a piece of cake though. They put me under about 1:10 pm and the next thing I know, it's 12:15 and the nurse I'd talking to me in the recovery room. I woke up very nauseated and with an irritated throat, but zero pain. I was able to urinate there at the hospital so they sent me on my way with prescriptions for Percocet, Flexeril, and Zofran for the nausea.
I went home that night and relaxed in the family room with my mom (who is staying with me for my recovery) and my husband and kids. Uncomfortable for sure, but still no pain. Also, it's extremely difficult to urinate (it hurts to try to use those muscles and also feels I'm practically swollen shut). Still no pain, but I was told to get ahead of the pain, so I took a Percocet at 9:15 pm
Day 1: continued.....I slept off and on through the night. The main problem was I felt very itchy and kind of wired up after the surgery. My surgeon gave me a relatively long lasting local anesthetic so I wasn't feeling any pain until around 4:00 am, then it slowly crept in.
