I am 15 years old and have some sort of infection or something in my vaginal area... it is very swollen, red, and kind of hard. Also the whole area is extreeeemely itchy, and after I've been scratching it and it gets very irritated, it burns so badly to pee that I almost cry. I've gone to the pediatrician 3 times and every time they have told me that I don't have a yeast infection or any other kind of bacterial infection, and that it's just very very irritated and I should take some sitz baths and use an external itching cream. I have tried everything, and it won't go away!!! It's been here for months and I don't know what to do, sometimes when I'm at school I have to go to the bathroom just so I can itch it because I can't even sit through class. It also keeps me awake at night sometimes, it's just SO uncomfortable! I don't know what to do anymore... Can anyone help me?? =(

This is definitely NOT normal. You should get to a specialist, (ob/gyn), right away. I find it fascinating that your doctor has not referred you to one and has basically told you to live with this condition. You must be in agony. Get to a doctor for more extensive testing. As long as it is irritated and you are scratching, it cannot heal properly. In addition, you need to get to the cause of the problem. In the mean time, consider if you are allergic to something like the laundry detergent, a fabric (like your sheets, your underwear). Get into a doctor right away so that you can get well. I hope that you will be feeling better very soon....Let us know.
