I know neurontin is an FDA approved oral medication but still it’s not enough for me. Three months ago I healed shingles, but pain is still here. Now my doctor recommended Neurontin. Before I start using that I would like something more then my doctor will tell me. I hardly want to get rid of pain but anyway want to know if there are some dangerous side effects.

Neurontin is available in three different dosage forms: tablets, capsules and liquid. Your doctor will tell you how you should take it, and how much too. Important is that you don’t increase or decrease dosage your doctor prescribed you or suddenly stop taking it. Neurontin is a good medicine and you should start with therapy, but like every drug, some side effects are possible to occur. If you notice anything strange you should immediately notice your doctor because at Neurontin side effects cannot be anticipated. There are different side effects of using Neurontin when it’s used for epilepsy and nerve pain. When taken for nerve pain, the most common side effects are accidental injury, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness etc. Uncommon and rare side effects of Neurontin have also been reported. Important is to mention that Neurontin causes some people to become drowsy so try not to drive or operate dangerous machinery until you are certain Neurontin does not have this effects on you.

I have a question about neurontin. I recenlty have been prescirbed neurontin for pain in my back that radiates to the front of my stomache in the upper gastric area. My understanding is that there is nerve that runs from my left side to the front of my stomace. My doctor said that I could have a nerve problem causing all of my pain. I have had no relief from the neurontin and have had several side effects from the medication. What should I do?
