I have been on the pill for about 8 years now non-stop. I recently stopped taking them (2 months) because my fiancee is gone for the summer. He is visiting soon and I want to know if the pill has effected my body to the point where it will protect me for a few more weeks from pregnancy. I heard that it is very difficult to get pregnant immediately after discontinuing use of the pill.
Many women report problems getting immediately pregnant after taking the pill for a prolonged period of time.
However, I wouldn't just assume that you are one of them. You can ovulate as soon as you stop the pill. There are many women who got pregnant as soon as they stopped the pill.
I would suggest an alternate form of contraceptive if you are not wanting to go back on the pill or if there is not enough time to have the pill in your system for 7-14 days before having sex.
Best of luck!

I was on the pill for over 10 years and I became pregnant within a week when I stopped taking it. I figured that because I was on it for so long that it would take me forever to get pregnant but that was not the case.
