I am planning to get pregnant and was reading this article, that says that I should be taking prenatal vitamin (one a day). Is this true? Why?
Hello!
It all depends on the nutrition you are consuming. If you have balanced diet, that should do. If you are planning a baby, it is important that you take 400 micrograms of folic acid a day, of course in addition to the folic acid you get from food (in tomato etc). start with this treatment at least a month before you start trying to get pregnant and during your first trimester.
Considering prenatal vitamins...some doctors say you should, some do not claim this...talk to your gyn and physician.
