I am a 60 year old woman and quite physically active. I had a hip revision in 2001. In 2007 my hip dislocated 2 times, 3 months apart, without any remarkable movement at the time. I had gained 7 lbs. prior. Since then I have lost another 10lbs. In December for approx. 2 wks., I noticed discomfort when putting weight on leg and releasing. I saw my surgeon, had x-rays which looked good.
Two weeks ago went for 4mile walk at beach, felt great, stayed on firm sand most of time. Following night when I stood up had severe pain in shaft, continued until bed, following day I was fine. Dr. said it was from walking to far on sand. Have been fine until yesterday now I am having shaft pain intermittenly. My prosthsis is non cement, held by growth process. I would like to know what is happening, could it be loosening?
