I had two kidney surgeries . Due to a birth defect . Blood vessel grew over tube.I was misdiagnosed for 3 years and it was scar tissue from my gallbladder removal.First surgery they try to fix it it was enormous they cut off a part of the Dead part put a stint in And hope for the best. At six months I felt like I was going to die The organ was dead itself and poison ivy. Resulted in having it removed. That was 10 11 12. It has been three years, And I am in worse pain now than I was before the surgeries. My side feels like I have a sword stuck in it constantly feels like my ribs are broken. My legs swell severely and feel like they each way a thousand pounds. I ate all the time up my back even to my neck at times Headaches And trouble sleeping. I take Tramadol everyday for the last 3 years. And I'm a full time single mom. I am having a hard time working but I have no choice. Looking for a new doctor down where I move to in Lower Michigan. The only follow up tests I've had done since the removal is a blood test from my doctor up North Michigan and he said my levels came back fine. I read all of these Stories And as much salad as it brings me seeing I'm not the only one that feels like this and its not my imagination, it also doesn't give me much hope for the future. My prayers to everyone out here on this thread

The words you wrote mirror my thoughts exactly. I had an open partial nephrectomy to remove tumor which turned out to be stage 1 grade 1 multilocular cystic rcc ( rare variation of clear cell rcc) on November 4th 2015. here it is 3 months later and I still hurt. I was feeling better for a but then started having the same flank pain that sent me to er to begin with where the tumor was discovered. it has also spread to my right hip and leg and it drags when I walk and walking is horribly painful. also...the whole part of my stomach under my scar is completely numb still as well. I also joined a support group for kidney cancer survivors and their input on this all is nerve damage. I see another doc about it tomorrow. I also feel like I should be happy that the cancer is gone...but with the pain ad having to wait 3 more months for scans, I cant help but wonder or fear if the cancer is somewhere else. and I sure wish this pain would go away. I am 35 years old with 3 children ages 14, 3, and 2. I need my energy and health back!

Hi, I had total kidney removal last Sept and was told i would be back to within 9 months. I believe I have recovered to where I will be at my best now. I do get pains in my side and sometimes it makes me take a sharp in take of breath! My stomach always swells after eating and stays that way for some time after. I believe this is how it will be now, so I thank The Lord for my good health and put up with the discomfort and wider waist!! i think the pain is scare tissue and lesions. Hope you feel better soon. B
