Hi, I have pains in my lower stomach near my left hip bone and the pains seems to move towards the back but I feel it mostly on the front portion. I get severe pains which at times wake me up at night. The pain in my side is constant and sometimes is worse than other times. If any pressure is put on my stomach near my hip the pain becomes worse. I am not sure what organs are found on that side or what can be causing this pain, also the pain does travel down my left leg as well. Do you have any idea as to what could be causing this pain, I was in an auto accident about 2 wks ago and this has been happening since. I do not know if anything was aggravated due to the accident. Thank You for any help that can be given. Nikki

It might be your bowels. If the pain and discomfort continues, I would recommend seeing a gastro doc. You might have something that is making you constipated. I have Crohn's disease which is an inflammatory bowel disease. Probably not what you have, but severe constipation can cause bad stomach pains. My lower left side is the worst for me too. If it feels like it runs up your left side, or you feel it in your tail bone, it may just be a bowel movement. The only organs in that area are your large intestine (aka colon) and your kidney's (which are more in your lower back). If it seems like your bowels, my first recommendation would be to incorporrate more fiber into your diet. Good luck!

im not sure about the pain moving from front to back, but when i visited the hospital with a similar pain which was moving from the back to the front, the doctor told me i had kidney stones. i came home from school one day with the whole of my left side just hurting like anything, and i couldn't sleep that night, and so the next morning i woke up being sick and feverish and had to go to the hospital. If this pain continues for a few weeks/a month consult a doctor. It's the best option. Well...o.k not the doctors they're pretty useless, go to the hospital.

I have the same pain. Apparently your bowels are on the left side GULP. I'm a female so I also thought it could be an ovarian cyst. At this point it hurts so bad I'm going to the emergency room. Hopefully these are not my last words.... wish me luck

I started off with the same pain, pain majorly on my left side. I actually thought it was a cyst as well most because I knew I had a cyst on that side. I went to my obgyn and she did an internal exam, I was reieving pain when she pressed my cyst but when she hit my hip bone I actually felt extream pain became dizzy vommited and passed out. Turns out I have a type of cancer that infests in your bones. With similar pain to this I would recommend a bone scan, and going to a hospital immediately.

it could be sacrilliac problems. I have it, and it came on after a fall. its when the pelvis, sacrilliac joint has more movement than usual in it. this causes inflammed ligaments, and it gives me pain down my leg.
My dr advised me to see a physio & they are helpin. dont let it go on as long as i did though, as it just takes longer to sort. ask your doctor x

Hello.. I'm a 22 year old male, and experiencing pain in my lower left region by my hip as well. I go into a auto accident Oct. 14 last year and got a inguinal hernia out of it! I already had the repairs done to the hernia. The area where i hurt by my hip is really TIGHT. and i have an little bump forming there. I'm not constipated at all. I eat healthy. Its been since Dec. 9th since operation and the tightness and pain has been there ever since. I've been to the doctors and surgeon and I get told i have a pulled muscle. Well i don't know about anyone else but i've never experienced a pulled muscle that has lasted for more then a couple of weeks. and i don't think i need to worry about ovaries.. haha!

I have also experienced these pains. About 5 years ago they were really bad. sometimes I couldn't walk and it was always worse around the point of ovulation. I tried different types of birth control pills to see if that would work (also oxycode for the pain and naproxen), but these did not work.
I elected to have a laproscopic surgery and found out I had an ovarian torsion (?spelling?). they believe the fallopian tube and ovary tissue were fused together by scar tissue from a cyst that had ruptured. I have polycystic ovaries and just recently, this pain started again.
It's always so sore in that area, so tender and swollen.
Very bothersome!
