Scott,
Glad to find your post, sorry to hear of your painful condition. 5 weeks ago I stood up and walked across the room. Four steps into my walk, I felt a stiffening of the muscle bands in my right hip. By the next morning, walking had become a privilege that I could not participate in for several weeks. My major complaint seemed to be emanating from the deep psoas muscles on my right side. I was also constipated. An exam at the doc's office yielded no diagnosis. There was some concern that scar tissue from a hernia repair 15 mos earlier. Days before I could get the appointment with the surgeon for an exam, I ended up in ER and had a CT scan. They ruled out any issues with the hernia repair, as well as a lot of uglier stuff. At that point, with organs being ruled out, I believed I must have strained my illiopsoas muscle.
I went to my acupuncturist and gained minimal results. PT visits yielded more intense pain, and I stopped. My chiropractor has been most successful in providing relief! He has been treating me for a femoral nerve impingement. While the pain still continues (ergo my visit to your post), it is much more distant and diffuse, concentrating more in the hip area than the deep abdominal region. This is much more manageable, and allows me to walk again.
Sleeping is difficult, as I toss and turn in search of the least painful position (the bruises from my wife's elbows compete with the pain in my right testicle). Seriously, I know now that the deep pain I had been mistaking for muscle strain, is actually nerve pain in my right testicle that radiates to a point in my lower ab and right hip area. That is why I found your post so interesting.
Here is how I have been managing: Chiropractic care; Femoral nerve. Support (jock strap, comfortable supportive underwear, etc) for scrotum. Minimize standing and walking. Rest with feet elevated. Sleep with pillow between knees to relieve pressure on testes. Instead of tossing and turning, try to adjust testes so that there is little to no pressure on them (squeezed or impinged). Some sort of pain reliever will help with sleep (I prefer non-pharmaceutical as condition seems chronic at this point).
I will keep checking in to see how you and others on this site are doing. Though I am as perplexed as others as to what is going on in my body, it is good to find that I am not alone in my head scratching. Thanks again for your post and I wish you well in your recovery.

Exact same issue....started with a shot to the right testicle in a drunken wrestling match one night at school. Ever since then something has not been right. I too have had similar pains in my lower abdomen area. First let me start by listing everything that I have had done: 3 Ultra sounds, 2 ER visits (pain was so bad at some points felt like my stomach was about to explode so i felt obligated to go to the ER, only to have an MRI done there and nothing funky was found so the doctor just called me...and i quote..."weird.") SO now that I knew he was a complete id**t because I am definitely not weird. I sure as hell am not coming to the doctors for fun or to get a lolipop...clearly there is an issue if I am in an ER bed cringing in pain. Anywho, I've also had my blood taken 4-5 times, I have given 4-5 urine samples and STILL no answers. It's very frustrating! I graduated school in 2012 so I'm coming up on my 2 year marker with this pain. Some nights its awful and others its okay. Never have I gone a day where it hasnt hurt at least a little or my bladder hasnt swolen. When it swells...it is very noticeable if I were to lift up my shirt. If i press into my stomach where the pain is then i get a shooting pain all the way down to my penis/testicles. OH and I had a biopsy performed by my urologist (this is a surgical procedure where they used a cathedar to go in through my penis and get a sample of my bladder). Nothing was found and I was told to drink a lot of water, stay away from caffeine and bubbly fluids. Also I was told to "train my bladder" meaning If i get the urge to pee...hold it in as long as i can. It makes for more swelling but after I pee it felt better. As dumb as that advice was it actually did help a little. I cleaned up my diet, no more coffee no more teas no more sodas just water mostly. If you're getting pain when you pee or the pain is involved with peeing in any way even if peeing helps the swelling....try training your bladder like i have. My pains come and go but by doing this it actually has helped a little. If you are peeing a lot of times throughout the day you are just causing your bladder to shrink so think of it like this. If your bladder can fit a cup of water in it and you drink 3 cups....its gonna cause your stomach to swell (if you dont urinate). So try your best to not pee as much and to hold it in. I just re visited my doctor and have gotten referred to another urologist and an allergist. Many have reccomended to me to see an alergist as maybe its not anything wrong and I am just intaking too much of something and it is causing my stomach to swell. My doctor has also told me to purchase benefiber and take 2 huge teaspons twice a day and of course to stay away from acidic-y / bubbly fluids. A post above seems very similar to mine and in the post he mentions it being chronic pelvic syndrome and that it may take 4-6 years to fully go away. This seems like the road I'm on however when I go to the new doctors and allergists I hope to find out more.....but I feel all of your pain and I wish you all the best. I hope this helps at least a little. No doctor is going to say OH I know what it is...take this and youll be fine.....thats not how this is going to go down unfortunately. Goodluck
