I had an infected cyst in that area that was not visible, but extremely painful. Couldn't sit, lie down, stand etc Antibiotics cleared it up. Doctor said it was not uncommon especially for those that who normally don't sit a lot and then suddenly sit for long periods (college students for example) or on hard surfaces.

Going through the same thing. Came on suddenly a couple of hours ago and I began blacking out and feeling week. Pain has subsided but it seems to still be there lurking. But identical symprtoms to what you describe!

I have the same thing as you. It only hurts when I sit and I notice it more when I reposition or begin to stand. No pain when I am standing or workingout.

I have yhe same problem recently. I think it's because I recently started laying on a couch while studying. It really hurts when I do that again so I stopped. But even sleeping on my back, or leaning in the chair when sitting hurts!!! I can feel this bump... I'll go doctor if it stays.

Just curious if you ever got the answer on your question. I am having the same exact problem and I could've described as well as you did.

I, however, had my tailbone removed in 1998 after falling on my buttocks and knocking my tailbone off to where it was a nonunion. So it probably isn't your tailbone if I am having the same pain. I am thinking that it is possibly my sacrum, but wanted to check and see if you ever were able find a diagnosis and treatment for this problem! I too deal when tons of pain, but this pain just about takes your breath away. And I too get comfortable and then all the sudden the pain happens without the slightest movement! It is so frustrating.
