That sounds like an anxiety attack possibly. You probably had one bc of the scary movie! No worries when i have one i can sometimes still feel weird or still hurt after many hours.

good morning. i have been experiencing this pain for six month now and i'm not getting any help. before this pains started i was infected with DROP one of the sexual transmitted disease. after taking treatments for the infections, thats where i started feeling this pain. im struggling to find the cure for this pain.

I'm glad I found this...I too have had the pain under the rib upper right side and can sort of tell when its coming on and it happened to me one time before when I stupidly tried methamphetamine but when I got mono...and I was hospitalized for a week cuz my liver was so affected by the mono I was 37 ..any way this occurred often and the more breaths I took the more the pain intensified I thought I was having a heart attack it was so intense and I was takif short tiny breaths and I couldn't even walk and a specialist that was in the hospital for a presentation heard of my symptoms and evaluated me and ran many tests and they found that I was actually suffering from pancreatitis caused by the mono damaging and weakening my liver.

This almost stabbing or most recently like being shot in the back through my ribs, feeling is called Pleurisy. It's like a fluid build up in the lungs that makes you feel like never taking a breathe again, because that's when you feel the excruciating pain. It only happens every 5-7 years but each time it's worst than the time before. In middle school the feeling was only in the immediate center of my chest, but the last time it was in the back, kidney/just behind my ribcage from the back area. It had been at least 6 years since I've had it but it was so bad this time that I could barely stand up and the only breathes I could take were so shallow that It felt more like I was holding my breathe. I've always been able to just take it really easy but still get through school or work but not this time. I ended up having to put Vicks rub all over that area and bind my ribcage, but I felt brand new the next day! Just my experience but maybe it will help someone. My primary care physician at the time of my first episode was beyond amazing and just a medical genius, because I've mentioned it to every physician since and they all had to educate themselves about it and two of them even thanked me at one point or another because it's uncommon, hard to test for and doesn't usually last long but will 99% of the time, reoccur several times in a life span.
