Hey guys! I have the same thing... I asked the doctor and he told me it was a "stress bubble"... it appears when I'm stressed out. Nothing to worry though. Oh, and he prescribed me these pills called "Lysine."

I have two of those inflamed skin flaps under my tongue. Tiny flaps that are red and whitish. One of them is really painful to touch and spicy food. Also, one small white bump at the tip of my tongue that came on last night. These tymptoms started 24 hours ago. I did change my toothpast to one I've never used before. Started it a couple of days ago. I was also told a few weeks ago that I might have a yeast problem in my mouth. After searching, I saw a lot of warnings about a potential STD situation. I plan to get get a complete STD test in a couple of days. I have yet to see any answers on this subject here on this forum.

okay, so i'm a little confused with what type of nub you have on the bottom of your tongue. I had a sort of round bulbous type of thing on the bottom of my tongue which was painful whenever i ate or whenever it got caught in my braces. It would grow from saliva and then burst and shrink again. A doctor removed it for me, an almost painless operation, less painful than having teeth removed by far, and it turned out to be cause i bit my tongue and blocked one of my saliva glans in my tongue. It came back after it was removed temporarily but then it disappeared. The other kind of thing im picturing is sorta like a canker sore on your tongue but slightly different. That should go away on it's own, and i guess there's some gel you can buy to lessen the pain temporarily.

I hope I helped.

This is just a strain. I get these from when I over extend my tongue. the flaps under the tongue extend a lot when you lick your tongue out and its just soreness. imagine you tried a new machine at the gym and you decided to over do it a little. the next day that muscle is going to probably be swollen and sore. this is the same thing. you can gargle with warm salt and water and it should be gone in no time.

I too had this happen again since I started using the same toothbrush.  I"m switching back to a different toothbrush again to see if it  helps.

I'm 12 and I have the same problem. This happened the day after Christmas because I ate an apple the day after xmas. Is it just a sore? Will it go away? I don't wanna get cancer. Please tell me how to make it go away! It really hurts and I barely ate the past few days. It really hurts and I have to go back to school on Jan. 3. I already have a coldsore, I'm sick, and my tongue hurting needs to go away! Please tell me what to do!

I developed soreness under my tongue two different times after eating popcorn.  I don't think it was from the popcorn, rather the Ranch seasoning I put on it.  It could be food allergies.

Sodium laureth sulfate found in most toothpaste could be the culprit. I am allergic to it. I usually brush with toothpaste w/o it, but ran out. Now I have a sore under under my tongue like you all describe.

After 7 days of extreme pain and not being able to eat much, I took your advice and pinched them open. I could immediately feel some relief and within 1 hour was able to eat, swallow and talk without pain! Thank you for posting this!

Did it bleed at all when you did it? I think I am having the same issue. Like a small piece of tissue is hanging from the bottom of my tongue. The tip of this tissue seemed to have a small spore or bubble which was visually clear and reddish in color. I read through this entire thread and decided to pop mine as well by pinching it. I washed my hands really good first, dried my tongue off and then pinched. I was pinching very hard and nothing seemed to happen except flatten the bubble thus making it a bit longer in size. So I decided to use a little fingernail on the pinching. It worked. The bubble popped but there is still this grossness hanging. It also bled a little. I'm curious to know what this is. I have been drinking the past 3 nights pretty heavily and most of my drinks have been new drinks that I normally don't drink. So this could be a factor. I have also been staying out late a lot and gOing on little sleep. I hope this post helps someone else and me if this thing comes back or the pain doesn't finish going away. I just did the procedure and the pain is way better (not so sensitive) but it seems to ache a little from me messing with it.
