I've always had a slightly larger/swollen pore type thing just under my right nipple, however over the last few weeks this spot had more than doubled in size and become very painful. I have not had children and so has nothing to do with breast feeding and first began to get painful when I travelled abroad. I have now also experienced the occasional pain stretching from the area of this abscess, through the breast and underarm and up the inside of my right arm. Does anybody have any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it?!

Did you injure yourself in the breast area? Does the skin around your nipple different than the other side? Any puckering/retracting of the nipple? or a discharge from the nipple? In any case breast is a soft tissue and any injury or infection spreads very fast. May I suggest that you try a self-breast-examination - take a look at few videos on youtube or google the topic. Also I will recommend that you visit your doctor ASAP before it gets any serious. Good luck
